My name is Mandy Becker and I am so excited and honored to be a part of your child’s preschool experience. I was born and raised in Roscoe, IL.  I attended Prairie Hill Elementary and Hononegah High School. I live in Caledonia with my 3 children. My daughter Bailey is in college and my twin boys Brandon & Blake graduated High School. We are a very active family and spend most of our free time traveling around the country with my sons’ junior hockey career. In my free time I enjoy being with my neighbors and hanging outdoors with my chickens and goats!

I graduated from Rockford College with my degree in Elementary Education in 1999. I taught preschool for a few years in Minnesota & Virginia and LOVED every minute of it! When we moved back to our hometown of Roscoe, I taught at North Boone Elementary. I then decided to stay home with our 3 children until they began school full time. I was able to continue my love for teaching during that time by tutoring students K-8. I am now starting my 11th year as the owner/director/teacher of my lifelong dream…. Red Shed Preschool!!

My name is Amy Mylin and I was also born and raised in Roscoe. I graduated from Prairie Hill Elementary School and Hononegah High School. We live in Rockton and have 3 children. Our two daughters attend Hononegah and our son recently graduated. We are very fortunate to have our extended family living in the area so we spend a lot of our time with them. Our family enjoys being outdoors boating, camping and swimming in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter. When I get a few minutes to myself, I enjoy curling up with a good book, digital scrapbooking and catching up with my girlfriends and sisters.

I received my Elementary Education degree in 1999 at the University of Iowa after student teaching in Scotland. I then taught third grade at Whitman Post Elementary School in Rockton for 4 years before I had our son, Gavin. I then continued to tutor children in grades kindergarten through eighth for eight years while I was a stay-at-home mom. I also kept busy during my time at home with my children by managing the swim lesson program at the Ledges Pool and founding the charity, Fighting Alport Syndrome. I decided to go back to teaching in 2011 was very fortunate to work as a Reading Specialist at Prairie Hill School. I feel very lucky to be at Red Shed and to have the opportunity to help your child discover the love of learning through exploration and creativity.
